Exaggeration Effects
Instructor uses an article on exaggeration from the National Association of PhotoshopTM Professionals' Magazine as a basis for a lesson on enhancing images. Ideas explored are use of magic wand and lasso selection tools, interpolation (image sizing) & blurring a duplicated background layer to create an optimized or simulated depth of field. Final images are characterized by the exaggeration of compositional space and the size of certain objects.

Parts I, II, & III : Converting RGB to Greyscale
Techniques of removing color from an image using selective
adjustment layers are explored in this 3 part series. The instructor gives a
step-by-step instruction in non-destructive dodging and burning,
vignetting, and creating a desaturated RGB file for a black and white
image editing. This allows for more local control and corrections.
The basic concept of this technique was taken from the following text:
Galer, Mark, and Phillip Andrews. Digital Photography in Available
Light: Essential Skills. 3rd ed. Oxford: Elsevier,
2006. pp.140-144
